All stall signs are made with high quality maple hardwood and are glazed to protect the sign. Signs include a portrait of the horse's face and either one or two lines of writing. (Up to three lines can be accomodated but will cost extra) The first line is bigger for the horse's barn name and the second is smaller for their show name (if applicable). One colour (more are extra) of your choice for the shadow of the lettering should be specified when ordering.
Additional Costs: for an additional line of lettering (3 lines) add $10; for multiple colours in the shadow of the lettering add $5. Please inquire if you have any other questions.
Tips for Reference Photos: The stall sign can only be as good as the photo I am painting from. So, to be sure that I can get every marking and detail just right, please send me a full-size, high-quality reference image to paint from. I can also paint from a series of photographs to ensure that I capture the horse just right.
Position of horse: The best stall signs come from photos that are at a slight angle to the horse and with the camera at the same level as the horse's head (not from above or below as this distorts the horse's face). Photo's taken in natural lighting on a slightly overcast day, or in the morning or evening when the sun in low in the sky make for the best photos. Taking pictures at these times makes for less shadowing in the face and it is much easier for me to see the details and colours in the horse's face.
